The reason people call it this way is because it gives off a very bad stink. The stink comes from beetles pollinating inside the plant. However, the plant itself is very beautiful. The plant will be displayed starting from ten in the morning. However, it usually blooms in the evening. Once it blooms, it will show beautiful magenta flowers. The college has been housing the plant since 2006. However, it usually takes around ten years for a corpse flower to bloom the first time. After that, it can bloom twice or three times a decade.
