End Citizens United Files A Complaint To The FEC On Florida’s Governor

Citizens United v. FEC changed the political landscape of America for the worst. Many believe that this Supreme Court decision opened the way for corporations to buy elections. One of the organization that believe this is End Citizens United, and they are working to change the political landscape, returning the power to the common people.

End Citizens United is taking many paths to securing the political process for the people. Their primary methods consist of supporting Democratic candidates that openly turn down corporate political donations. End Citizens United isn’t able to directly influence the Supreme Court and convince them to reverse their decision, but they are able to make sure the candidates they support do not play into the corporate money game.

Recently, shifting from their traditional methods, ECU filed a complaint against Rick Scott to the FEC. The complaint accuses Rick Scott of working directly with New Republican, a PAC that is assisting Scott with his campaign. A politician working with a PAC directly is against campaign finance law. The add fuel to the fire, Rick Scott once held a very prominent position with the PAC; End Citizens United is claiming that he is still working with New Republican.

Rick Scott is currently the Governor of Florida, but he is now running for U.S. Senate.
